circling + yawning.

For the last two days, we've been running around madly. In circles + squares, practicing geometry. A little like this...

And I have to say, growing a little person is tiring! I get cramps at random intervals walking (round ligament pain, no big deal) and have to slow it down. I spend most of the day looking for a bathroom or covering my big yawn of a mouth. (And right now at 25 weeks, baby yawns like a fiend right along with me!) My energy stores have been superb, but this city vibe is sapping me dry. Just feeling a little spent, and ready for Saturday's long lie in.

But, people have been lovely (not a normal occurrence here)! Even if I'm wearing my yet-baggy maternity hoodie and feel like I must not look pregnant, kind women offer up their seats to me on the metro. I haven't accepted yet--because we're normally just a stop or two away--but today might be a different story.

Looks like instead of leaving the city to site see in the hippie valleys, we'll be staying in one place. In between long naps (and maybe breakfast in bed: hint hint, dear husband), I'll be catching up on your blogs and working on translation projects.

I hope your weekend is filled with love + sunshine (even if it's raining outside)!

Hello dearest,

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been feeling uncomfortable lately! Maybe this is a somewhat masochistic, cross-country like approach, but I think that enduring through the pains of pregnancy does help you love and treasure your child all the more! Of course I'm not speaking from experience, but rather from observance. :/ I wish you the best this weekend! Get lots of rest and I hope your husband does make you breakfast-in-bed, because you totally deserve it!

Even though I know you feel horrible, I cannot tell you how excited I am for you to be pregnant. Just knowing you have someone inside you must feel magical. And I am glad people are kind to you. Such a neat experience!

Hope you have a long relaxing weekend! I've been spent all week as well but I don't have nearly as good an excuse as you. Enjoy a leisurely weekend!

Can you actually tell that your baby is yawning??

How surreal!

Sounds like you are close to the finish line :)

I love what you wrote about feeling your baby yawning, and how special people are being noticeably kinder-than-usual :) So sorry about the pregnancy issues - thanks for sharing these calming photos despite that - wishing you the same calm (and lovely long lie in) this weekend!

pregnancy can be so draining and tiring at times, sorry you are feeling that part right now. but also so amazing, too. I miss the incredibly magical feeling of a baby in my stomach. the kicks felt like popcorn popping in there to me! I know everyone says it, but rest, rest, rest! and take people up on that seat offer on the metro!

Ahh, a good nap is the key to all things uncomfortable... I do hope you feel better, and yes, breakfast in bed sounds like the right thing for the husband to do! :)

How cool! Not having ever been pregnant, I love hearing about it, and truthfully. And I hope that many more people are kind along the way -- I cannot imagine how it feels, but it's comforting to know that other people do care. Rest easy this weekend :)

That is so sweet, I heard almost the same statement from one of my preggo girlfriends recently. Very nice of people to offer you their seat on the Metro. In the city where I live the transit drivers end up making people move because they are so non-observant or just don't care.

Hope you had a great weekend!
