a moveable feast

{view from land's end}
Indian summer is in full swing here, so we dipped Rowan's feet in the Pacific for the first time. He was a little worried.

{baby toes meet the ocean}
But even though the days have been warm, the nights are chilly and crisp fall convinced me to wear a scarf and hat yesterday evening. I'm craving butternut squash soup and drinking lots of jasmine pearl tea.

S bought a TV. I'm not thrilled about that, but he's been on a movie strike. Meaning he refused to watch movies on the computer screen for months. The other night we hunkered together to watch the magic that is Midnight in Paris. Have you seen it? That movie makes me happy. And while I'm not a huge fan of the huge screen in our living room--which will now be a permanent fixture--I admit I want to watch Hemingway pick fights and call the sexy girls moveable feasts on the big screen.

Rowan turns nine months old on Thursday. He'll be almost as old as the time he grew and lived in my body. It simultaneously feels impossibly long and like he's lived with us for much longer than that. He is living proof that time is a useless accordion. I wonder how I could turn that into a Halloween costume.

What are your cravings lately?
What will you be for Halloween?

i think at 9mths old i felt my girl had been there forever. i think it's a mixture of the impossible amount of love + their booming personalities, despite the tiny bodies that seem to suggest they make little waves.

first sea dips are magic.

i'm craving crunchy things and a day out.

Oh!! He is so big already, I can´t believe how quickly time has run by. Wishing we had Indian Summer here... Pouring today and I have no idea what to do with my 5 and 3 year old.... Maybe we will go out and look at the Wimbledon horses....

I can't imagine my baby being 9 months old! That's probably because I'm only 16 weeks pregnant at the moment and so impatient already to meet this little one!

Seems like just yesterday my son was a naked little bum running down the sound for the first time. It goes so fast.
I know what you mean by the screen. My advice is to cover it up. Build a cabinet or buy an armoire. There's where ours is hidden! LOL!
Best,
Tina

Now I remember your Halloween costume from last year ;-)

I'm not dressing up. Halloween isn't really a thing here in Belgium even though many celebrate it. But I'll do my duty and allow the children to carve pumpkins.

Ugh, Heather.. why must you live so far? I need a tea drinking, soup eat, non tv watching buddy.

awww so precious! I'm honestly craving San Fran and all of it's delicious, fresh vegetables. I also am craving tea from Samovar (in the Yerba Buena Gardens).. can't wait to visit again soon! I just can't believe your little guy is 9 months already - wow.

hehe he is so adorable - glad you are still enjoying beach weather.

and i guess i understand your desire to not have a tv... but as long as it stays out of the bedroom i think you will be okay.

This is such a sweet picture! And such precious memories I am sure :)

It definitely feels like fall and I am craving soup too! I am so excited for Christmas I am already rushing things by listening to Christmas music. haha. I think I should let fall take it's course first.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! I don't have any plans for Halloween, but I wish I was dressing up. That would be fun!
